Community Garden

Bringing residents together to learn, socialise, share skills and experiences, and support physical and mental health and wellbeing.
Volunteers can give time every day or once a week, and that we are not looking to be Beechgrove or anything posh just to get together and enjoy trying to grow some veg and flowers and enjoy some company.

Our new owners have agreed to our request for a piece of land on Riverview
that we can establish into a community garden for all residents who are
interested in this project. The only rulings they have stipulated are that the
Residents Association controls it and that we ensure it is as "green" as
possible, this will mean no chemicals neither fertilizers nor pesticides, we
create our own compost and we use rainwater.
We have been extremely fortunate with residents giving all kinds of donations
to get us started, from gardening tools and plants to sheds, seating and even a
greenhouse for which we are entirely grateful. We also thank the residents who give their free time and efforts, working on the garden for the benefit of all.  We welcome others to join us, either working with us on the land or simply relaxing in the "quiet area" and enjoying a chat or a refreshment and catching up with other residents.
If you want to have your own plot to grow your own fruit and vegetables, speak to one of the committee members and we can arrange an area for you to "do your own thing"

Feel free to bring your own tools if you have them. We'd also welcome donations of gardening tools or offers to borrow larger items like a rotavator to help get us started.
